It was noted by the Hindi philosopher Retsiem Regaj in the late 1400’s that spectral aberrations would often avoid areas in which an incense containing the indigenous herb Makaska elleforia had been burned. This information was lost to time before its rediscovery by the revered Dr. Dervious Watsworth in the mid 1800s. By fusing M. elleforia extracts into brass through a proprietary process, Dr. Watsworth was able to create an alloy virtually impassable by spirits. The natural succession of this knowledge was in the creation of the Watsworth Spectral Containment Unit. Though perfectly functional, the units were initially a poor seller as no means had been developed to actually catch spirits at that time.
